Abbey 345 Pre-School is located within the grounds of St Guthlac’s School. We are situated on a secure site with a wonderful sensory garden where children can grow fruit and vegetables, learn about life cycles by observing life in our pond and various animal habitats - and experience the changing seasons. The garden also includes a trim-track, willow tunnel and magical story telling area – complete with an owl carved throne. Classroom 1 – with lino flooring, is used for ‘messy’ play allowing the children to experiment with different media - paint, clay, ‘gloop’, dough, pasta, foam, sand and water. It is roomy enough to also offer table-top play and space for the children to eat a range of healthy snacks. Classroom 2 - with carpet flooring, has a cosy cushioned area for group times such as registration, stories and music, a literacy area with a wide choice of books, puppets and story sacks as well as computer access and a variety of role play and small world zones. |
